Blackbird Cider Works

About Our Apples

We Grow Our Own Apples

BlackBird Cider Works apples come from their own commercial orchard (Donovan Orchards) and are located on the property with the cidery operation. The 37.5 acre property has approximately 20 acres of planted orchards and produces 25 varieties of apples including classic American varieties (Empire, Jonagold, Cortland), as well as English and American cider apples. The orchard is one of just a few commercial orchard operations in New York State that produces certified organic apples.

In addition to the apples being used for BlackBird’s hard cider, they are also sold commercially to the fresh, processing and juice markets.
